Lindy and I know Junior and his wife Mickie as she was a vocal instructor in the famed South Plains College music department at Levelland, TX when Kate was a star pupil and subsequently graduate of that program a good 10 years ago now. Both Mickie and Junior were a great inspiration to Kate, as was their amazingly talented singer-songwriter daughter Tori.

Junior is one of those SUPER hard-working, incredibly talented singer-songwriters who hasn't gotten all the fame and fortune he deserves, and yet he DOES make his living with music. So there's that.
